My male black phantom tetras has soplit fins, but they are not ill, the water it good, and they have had them for almost a month now. They still eat well, are active, love the new girls I added and look very healthy. Is there anything I should do for them? I don't want to medicate my tank, and I do plenty of water changes to keep everything clean and healthy in there. Thanks!

Could try adding some salt to the tankk.

It is definatly not fin rot, and the fish look happy and healthy otherwise, he just has a nice little split on his fin. I figure I will leave the poor little guy alone, since it is not bothering him and has been around for a while now without problems.

mine always have split fins. they heal, then split again. it's never affected my other fish so i assumed it was just a black phantom thing. I dont know though. it's never caused them any trouble anyway!

Do you they are doing it to each other ? maybe you need more ;)

I would just keep doing what you're doing .

I have one bully fish in my tank, so I was wondering if she might have had something to do with it. I am to the point I wan to call the lfs and see if they will trade her. she is just a b*tch! lol
My other two that had the split fins healed, but this one little guy has not. *sigh* Oh well, he looks healthy otherwise.
