There's a guy on Kijiji (a website similar to Craigslist, or Gumtree) selling Asolene spixi (LINK). I was curious about the following:

-How big do they get?
-Where do they lay their eggs when they -do- reproduce?
-Are they particularly invasive (do they breed quickly and take over?)

I was eyeballing these for my 15 gallon long planted tank, but I'd like to know some more info about them before I go buying them. I know -exactly- where the guy is located as I pass the place twice a week on the bus.

Max out at about 1 inch, sometimes smaller.

Underwater.

Not particularly invasive, but do breed readily.

You will have to feed them or they might take a liking to your plants.

I once got a 2" canas (Pomacea canaliculata) dumped on me who, mistaking it for an overlarge apple snail, I dumped into a heavily planted 4".. by morning it had made its way from one end of the tank to the other, hovering up every plant along the way. You're right to ask first!

agh! no way.!. I'm not buying ANY of these. I have a hard enough job keeping my plants alive as is, I don't need a snail devouring the ones I -CAN- keep alive....

Thanks. :)
