Singapore Sams is now gone and replaced with a pasty shop of all things :(

Glad to hear that the plec is now on the bottom, its a start to a good recovery i think.

Sorry to hear you've got probs in this tank as well now Shelagh, hope the plec makes a good recovery. I agree that is was probably the ammonia spike that caused his problems, hopefully with some water changes he will start to feel a bit better. Everyone else in the tank looking ok?

yes thanks minx, no one else seems to have suffered, but saying that someone did say that ammonia can show the symptoms a good while later, but heres hoping! :)

these fish are like children if its not one thing its another, have done another Wc ( forgot to test first tho) so will test later on this evening and post the results, have stripped everything out of the tank, so literally a few sticks and pots in there now, no plants, no dirt no nothing..

pasty shop indeed.. thats what greggs is for

hi Axle
the spinning has stopped, and hes looking well enough, but hes not on the floor as much as he was, he tends to be on the glass, but IME this is normal for plecs, considering the lights have been of since all this started- i have kept the ammonia down to 0,and keeping the water really clean with daily water changes- which Jambo is not gratefull for at all lol-moody bugger he is!
i put my hand in the tank to make sure theres no electric running thru it and theres not,so i think as earlier suggested it was definatley the ammonia that did this- totally my fault, and i really hope that they will get off lightly where it effecting them later on in life goes,

shelagh xxx

You hopefully caught it quickly enough to do no permanent lasting damage, you worry too much Shelagh :) Good news anyway, well not for Jams but for the Plec :)
