I lost my dwarf gouramis to columnaris(I think) at the beginning of the month, and no one of my Dwarf Honey Gouramis has started spinning. This is not the same symptoms as the other two had as one of them just had a tiny patch of faded scales and the other a couple of tiny lumps. This GOurami spns in circles as if chasing its tail then stops for a rest, at rest it seems ok. This morning whne I fed them he/she seemed fine. I always have a good look at them morning and night when I feed them. Oh I've had him for this fish for about 5 months, it was one of my first the tank has been set up for about 6 months. I did add a CAE to the tankl a few days back, but he seems fine and everything else seems ok too.
Have to go out in a minute, but when I get back I will do water change and test params, in the meantime and advice welcome.

Thanks

Firebelle

It sounds more like whirling disease than anything else, especially since he is chasing his tail. Unfortunately, it doesn't look good for him.

Myxospora (a.k.a. Whirling Disease)

Symptoms:

This disease is also called Whirling disease because infected fishes lose control of their equilibrium and swim in a whirling motion. Bodily deformation, lesions and a darkening of the posterior portion of the fish’s body may also occur, especially in advanced infestations.

Cause:

Myxosporidia spores. These spores may affect all internal organs, creating cysts. This particular disease usually progresses very slowly, taking several months to kill the fish.

Treatment:

Unfortunately, there is no curative treatment. Furazolidone and Furoxone administered by injection, however, will stop the spread of this disease (but will not cure it).
