After the very sad death of my Satanoperca Jurapari (Spike) last week at the hands of my evil severum, I had to get some more, so after some searching, I found some and got 2. They went in the tank today, and seem to be doing very well. No agression from the Oscar or Shovelnose, and they are happily exploring their new home. I'm going to get 1 more, but they were £55 for 2, and I couldn't afford any more today!!

Anyway, here's Spikey!!

And Spiketta!!

With the Oscar

My Shovelnose got himself all worked up when I put the bags in, and shed his slime. Here he is with slime stuck on his whiskers!!!

I should have the severum out of there this weekend, so I'll be able to open up the whole tank to the rest of them and finish decorating etc!!!

Yup, I'm keeping my eye out for others now!!

YOU HAVE AN EVIL SEVERUM! I have an evil severum, he killed Mo the gudgeon What size tank?

Bit of an unsure on that, manufacturer says 147g, I reckon more like 138g!!! Still big though.
As for the bloody Severum, I have him sectioned off, and after I introduced the Shovelnose, and the 2 new juraparis, I thought I'd let him out and see how it goes. Well, he went on a rampage and attacked everything he could see and all the others were hiding on the opposite side of the tank. Even the Oscar who is about 2-3" bigger and the Shovelnose who is around 14"!!! Needless to say he was sectioned off again, and is going to be taken back to the LFS tomorrow. It's a shame, but I just don't have anywhere else to house him! :/

Lovely cichlids!

My next tank is going to be 50G + and I want it to be my loach/plec/large cichlids tank. So I was looking for a couple of large cichlids that would go well in this kind of tank. Are your new guys peacful? How big will they grow?

The Juraparis are lovely peacful cichlids. They get to about 10" so they'd be ok that sort of tank. You can get more info here

He was probably injected with hormones for brighter colors, which made him crazy. Or, he was just aggressive 147g

Either way, he's a mean bastard!!!!! and yeah, I was really chuffed to be able to get this tank. I always wanted a big tank with large cichlids and other big fish!!
