Hi... I've had a tank since May of 2004... it wasn't until winter when the sun shown directly into my apartment that algae really started to grow. How much is too much, and is algae bad? There is a coat of algae over almost everything, but I clean the tank sides regularly.

Should I invest in an algae eater? And if so, can someone recommend a nice, friendly, SMALL one?

THanks! Any other suggestions in case my LFS does not have this particular pleco?

a group of ottos. Shouldnt be too hard to find, and do a very good job at cleaning algae. They only get to about an inch/inch and half so you should be able to get a group of about 5

Make sure to invest in algae tabs and some cucumber for when you run out of algae, non of the algae eaters will be able to stay alive on flakes or any like that
