Hi Folks

I have bred some of my Bettas several times in the past with success, but have a new problem. I have had a crowntail girl in with my crowntail boy for 4 days, and they have not spawned. She seems ready but his nest is modest at best, so I reckon thats whats stopping her. How long do you normally wait before taking her out and calling it failed?

well are either of the fish hurt or injured in any way? if not and they seem to be pleasent with each other Id leave them together for a few more days.

If they are both still pretty much ok i would leave them at about 7 days i would seperate, re conditon for a week then start over

Hi Folks

As the girl spends most of her time hiding under a cave ornament (despite having breeding bars etc) when I try to feed them the male gets all the food. I know I shouldnt feed when eggs are on the scene but I dont like the thoughts of them both, or just her, not eating for days before a final (hopeful) spawn. So my question is, assuming she does not eat at all when she goes in the breeding tank, would you still leave her 7 days or alot less?

Thanks
Lee
