Hi Fish Hobbyist,

I am 1st time here and would like to seek some usefull advice. I am staying in Singapore and currently keeping a pair of male & female Golden Bubble Ram fish in a 2 feet tank near to the window. Using a overhead filter and change 1/3 of the water weekly. Allow 3cm long Algae grow on the tank surface except the one facing me, thinking that algae is good for spawning fish. The Rams are fed with live Tub-worms. They are growing fine with darker shade of orange on the head and body. The female Ram has a bigger tummy with "short white tube" sticking out of the tummy but yet to lay any eggs. She tend to hide in a hollow vase, leaving the male ram guiding the entrance.

As a 1st time Ram breeder, the following are my concerns:

1) Should I remove the adults/male/female after the egg spawned?

2) Should I off the overhead filter and insert a air pump instead during spawning to prevend sucking the Ram-babies into the filter?

3) Is it true that algae is good for the Ram-babies?

4) What food should I introduce into the tank to feed the Ram-babies other than Tub-worms?

Please help, your advice is appreciated.

Regards,
Ramfish
