Well, I spent all day yesterday doing a full water change on the fry tank ... I got lots of good advice against doing it, but to add in the new spiffy heater and sponge filter it was kinda necessary. I haven't spotted a single dead fry since then, they're all very happy and munching on MW's and BBS's. I'm also VERY glad I did it because I got out tonnes of junk that was getting SO much on my nerves!! I also removed the java moss, because it was annoying and it produced lots of gross plant matter stuff on the bottom. I also counted every. single. little fry. 
It was a job that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy! Those little babies are ridiculously fast swimmers, I chased them around with the turkey baster forEVER. And, guess how many fry I officially have???

yep, thats right. Just about as big as a spawn can get! Thats totally my luck, too!! I wish I could recount them, because it seriously looks like there's 100 in there, TOPS. Hopefully the weaker fry will die off (I know it's a horrible thing to say, but it's life.) so that the stronger majority will grow up even stronger. You know I'd just be THRILLED to have 300 1 gallon jars all over the house 
, more importantly my parents will be THRILLED! heh, did I mention I'm taking reservations for babies now? LOL, I might celebrate the ginormous spawn with some fry pics later.

LOL... to be honest, it's kind of overwhelming to think that I now have 361 Bettas! 
I think the biggest factor was how hard-working their Pops was. He was awesome!! He never, ever took a break from working on his nest, he had wonderful nest care and I think that's from very good breeding on BettaTalk's part. I'm SO getting him a nice new MiniBow now!

As horrible as it sounds, I'm gonna be removing eggs in my spawns from now on if they look too large. Over 100 is just way too many to handle as a college student, and it's not like the eggs will know the difference *lol*. That way I can concentrate more of my effort on the remaining fry. Besides, my next spawn will be CT x plakat, and the outcomes aren't likely to be very desirable... just a step on the way to CT plakats.
Come on splashluff, give us some baby pictures!

I know, it'll be an insane pain in the butt if all of these fry survive. I admit, I've been a little bit less meticulous about not stressing them too much... I know that sounds horrible, but I'm hoping they'll at least get down under 300 I would NOT have the heart to cull any of them, honestly.Yes, I expect you all to take a bunch of them

It's obvious you're not afflicted with MBS. It's amazing how much control you have compared to the rest of us with like 10 bettas.
