Spares?

Hi everybody! Do you keep a spare heater/filter in case of emergency. I'm worried my heater is going--temp dropped 2 degrees for no reason at all--been 78 for 2 years. I just wondered what everyone else did--in case the heater or filter broke down at a time when you just can't get to the LFS. Thanks!

i should really but i don't at the moment i only have a spare airpump. if there is an auction on ebay with no bids and a low price i'll be tempted incase i have problems with my current filter etc.

I managed to setup 5 tanks in the shed just from my spare equipment...

I don't because if a filter fails like in my 55g I have 2 filters in there at the moment so if one fails the other one will still work. For now all I have is a 50 watt heater for extra but will be using it once I start my long 20g back up again. I also have air pumps and air stones for oxygen.

so you can go to youe LPS at 9pm at night when your heaters just blown up?

i'ved got spare tanks, filters, heaters, lighting..

I do, but only by coincidence really. I tend to upgrade things and whatnot and hold on to the old ones

I have spare filters(5, Mostly cheap Wispers), heaters(2), tons of buckets(which are almost usless because I have a python), a few 10Gs, and other random stuff that i don't need.

Yeah, im sure your fish are way excited about the prospect of no oxygen and no filter. Im sure your suffocating, dying, poisoned fish would think that its way more exciting too than having a spare in the cuboard!

I keep heaters and filters. Plus any equipment/meds up to date.

Miagi, I was only joking...a little sarcasm never hurt anybody. In all seriousness I actually have to spare heaters, an extra penguin bio wheel, two extra whispers and a ten and a twenty for fry and quarantine. Hopefully the 20 will be the new home to some soo-obos soon.

oh btw, miagi i've always wondered...do you really look like pat morita? Seriously it would be great to take advice from someone who looks like him because he looks so wise and knowing.

I have more spare aquatics related equipment then I can think of. Wish I had some spare room, time, & outlets.
