Spankone's Crack At A Nano (update 4/2/07)

right my ph is 7.8 and the kh is 130mgl whats my co2 level

Depending on the accuracy of your test kits I make it around 3ppm CO2, i.e. none. You either need to increase the CO2 bubble rate or find a way of increasing the diffusion rate of the current co2 into the water.

well on the hagen bubble wall there is 3 steps its on 2 so i'll put it on the depest point of the wall i guess,.....

any way i've fiddle the scape and i've used nets thats used for washing machine tabslets to hold down the anubas and java fern, not sure if its a good idea or not but we'll see when it comes to removing the nets

thats the best i can do for now i'll just let it grow and play with the water quality ph mmmmm is 7.8 ok and what kh should i aim for? cheers dude

Dont worry about the KH, the only way to lower this is with RO water and thats just a hassle, unless your doing it for the fish. I would aim for a pH of around 7 poss down to 6.8 if you can that should give you around 30ppm.

Nice idea with the anubias, just be careful that the fine mesh doesn't restrict the root growth or prevent sufficient water movement that could rot the rhizome and obviously once its attached you'll need to cut it off, but all in all looks like a smart idea that one :)

i've had a second filter floss in my juwel filter for weeks and added that last night before i added this little guy today my girlfriend jen picked and paid for him along with 7 green neon tetras, im well happy with how it looks now and just adding moss balls has made a big change imo

although this tank already has a working filter its in the lid and well its a bit naff . i saw a post on here where some one had made thier own external filter with a power head and a lock n lock container. i might just give it a go bit i cant find it any where on this site. anyone have the link to it

good hint that i was told...... look at how dirty my power head is. drop your bits in a bucket with a milton stralising tablet 15 mins and a rinse later its all clean

This is cute. Did you ever upgrade the lighting with a Power compact? Just curious. I actually like the composition, again very cute. The anubia solutio is almost funny, I'm sorry, but that's a pretty strange contraption. Perhaps because it is a smooth stone. I doubt the anubia will attach itself to . You're better off with a coarser rock (lava rock comes to mind) or a piece of wood. But at least the rhizome isn't in the substrate.

llj :)

yeh your right it didnt grow to the rock so its kind of gentle pinched with the rocks and to answer your other question i didnt go for the power compact due to space issues i think the lights i fitted are on page on of this thread. the lights are arcadea pigmy lamps and seem to work fine
