im surprised no one has commented on this. when i put my tank pics up i enjoy getting comments as all that hard work seems worthwhile without anyone appreaciating it.. if u know what i mean

but tank looks amazing.. great work.. am kinda jealous now

is that a plain black backround and if so what did u use..

thanks

Sorry, I missed this post too.

lovely tanks, thanks for putting the pics up.
i think the wood in the big tank looks fab!
:fun:

Very nice! Even though you have used plastic plants, you've captured a very natural look to the tanks. The bogwood sets them off very well :D

thanks for all your comments.

to answer your question yes it is a black background which I got from my lfs.

It is still a work in progress, I just bought some more wood and another big plant for the left side of the tank today and I still would like to add some angel fish.

Thanks again.

Great looking tank!
I'm not usually a fan of artificial plants but you've certainly done them justice. ;)

I do like the word nice but it is easy to say nice when one could say more.

I like the detail shots and overall look of your placement is nice however the pic I quoted above shows 2 things that I think could be improved and maybe after I point them you do to... it's a well laid out tank, I just think these slight tweaks will improve the composition. It looks like you are going for a natural look so my comments are based on that - don't flame me please - this is just my opinion from eyeballing your photos.

1. The tall bit of wood on the right centre is a little off centre which is good but because it has equal forks going down in the same direction it draws the eye a bit too much. I suggest moving it more to the right and maybe rotating it a little to make the forks spread at different angles (hard for me to say how to rotate as can't see 3rd dimension in pic). I think moving this wood right somewhere about 10cm will help.

2. Bottom left corner and bottom right corner, the pebbles look arranged a little bit TOO regular. Humans, without knowing, it arrange things in regular patterns and it's actually hard not to especially when you are in a 90 degree internal corner. A bit of uneven distribution here will also draw the eye off.

Part of what artists spend their whole careers trying to get down is perfect composition, to get this in 3D is not easy and you should be proud as your's is a very good one. Have a play with my suggestions and see what you think then. You could always put it back.

Best regards
Ben
