I have a 55G tank that has 2 15w, 18" tubes - one on each side (there are actually 2 hoods). My question is this - where can I find higher capacity light hoods for my tank? I've seen some 3 or 4 tube 48" hoods, but those wouldn't fit on my tank, mostly because of the center divider. Do most people roll their own multi-tube hood?

Thanks for the help!

There is normally a way of adding more light to the existing hood, are you able to take a picture, its always easier when you can see the hood itself.

i'll post some pics when i get back home. there are two hoods, with one bulb each, so there is a good bit less than one wpg.

if i take out the existing light from the hood, i believe i can fit two tubes in each, but that still leaves me with just over one wpg, not a big improvement.

the actual light hood isn't that wide, so putting more than two bulbs isn't feasible. the glass under the hood would probably be restrictive even with two bulbs per hood. i think i'm going to need a whole new hood, one that is wider and has more open glass area.

Not really following this, but the pics will help :) how long is the tank BTW? 15w tubes in a 55G seems very strange.
