Sorting Outflow Out

I have the Viaaqua Va380 Aquarium and i suspect the outflow might be abit too strong, how would i modify the outflow cheaply?

There's a million ideas to that, none that I have used, haha...
Off the top of my head, I think you could try attaching a sponge to the intake, or the output - flow. Might not be pretty, but hey.

ok, uh its a longish pipe with lots of holes for the outflow, how would i attach a sponge to the intake?

Either get a blocky bit and cut a hole in it, or tie it on with fishing line or similar.
