My tank spec:

Dimensions: 24"x12"x12"
Substrate: Sand and coral sand mixed ( dont look very good )
Hood: Plastic not in great condition two slots in back for two bulbs
Lighting: T8 plain flourescent 15 watt (omg) bulb
Filteration: Interpet powerflow 240v (not brilliant)
Heater: is Good about the only thing in tank that is lol

I am building a new hood as this one can only fit 2 t8s in. So it would help if you could also give me a price on the wood :p . I'm buying a nutafin natural CO2 kit with the tank only being small im sure their is not need for pressurized just yet.

So would be very happy if someone could help me upgrade and give me a price on it. :)

Thanks mattb22

LOL!!! I love the scubadiver

Well, you could do a lot with a tank. What's your budget and I"ll try my best to help. There are some EXPERTS in planted tanks on this forum that would LOVE to help, I"m sure.

What kind and how many fish are in your tank?

Hmm well I will get things bit by bit every week probably just got me new gravel! :) I am thinking of having a few guppys in their a couple of corys nd some rainbow fish :p The gravel makes it look amazing :D

You're going to want to start by replacing the lighting and the substrate, both of which will be the most expensive things to make the switch to planted tank. The price will vary, but if youre aiming for a tank like jimboo's or george's (which i think we all are), then you will need over 2 wpg with a nutrient rich substrate and then co2 injection (also relatively expensive).
