jumping into the frey. Been keeping tanks (on and off) of various sorts for a couple of years, but really got into it about 8 months ago with the 2 tanks I have going now.

All I can say is - expensive hobby!! I had no idea how addictive, (hence pricey!!) it can get. Eegads.

Hoping to learn a ton here (already have... lurking about!), and make some great improvements to my tanks and skills!!

:hi: to the forum.

Yes, it can get very expensive, and can take up quite a bit of room, too.

There's a thread in Tropical Chit Chat about how much people spend, and there are quite a few people who have spent over $1,000. :p

What sizes are those tanks? Inhabitants?

Thanks all! I'm very glad to be here and can't wait to pick some brains..!! Tanks are currently:

20 g:
8 neons
2 black tetras
2 zebra danios
3 ghost shrimp (+ 1 hatched, growing baby)
1 green cory
1 algae eater
2 bloodfin tetras
1 mystery (platy?) baby.... yet to identify itself

45 g (barely) planted:
2 blue mickey mouse platies
2 red mickey mouse platies
3 marigold platies
3 zebra danios
1 algae eater
1 green cory
2 lamplight tetras (huge)
2 glowlight tetras
1 silver molly
1 golden killi
2 bleeding heart tetras
1 white cloud
2 black skirt tetras

Plants:
2 swords (one red melon)
1 java fern (?)
1 vallisnera

looking to increase plants, and possibly switch up the populations a bit to incorporate 2 blue rams in the big tank... but still not sure how that will work..

Suggestions/ advice always welcome!
