Sorry guys, another sand question

I added sand to my 90g last night, and the water went all mucky. It's regular play sand. How long until this settles? Will water movement help it settle or disrupt it more?

Did you wash it really, really well before putting it into your tank?

I rinsed, didnt wash it amazingly well, I was told I didnt have to.

Should always wash anything that is going into your tank extremely thoroughly, even if it does say washed or clean.It will make your filter filthy for a while but should eventually settle
