Hi, thanks for the answers to my question yesterday.

My tank is set up and awaiting fish. It's a 96ltr with a juwel filter system. I have 10 plants in there also. I have read some of the advice about fishless cycling and I'm still a bit confused. As i have plants in already do I need to add ammonia? I did a test on the water yesterday evening and the resluts were as follows.

NO2 - 0
NO3 - 50
KH - 3
DH - 16
PH - 6.8
CL - 0.8

Yes you will need to add ammonia in order to start your cycle, if you can get access to some mature media this could really help kick start the process. If you have not already been advised i would be inclined to get a liquid test kit(Api freshwater master kit), going by your parameters in your post it looks like you are using the Tetra 6in1 test strips. I have used this product in the past and found it to be unreliable.

I've also read that I'll end up with a lot of algae at the end of cycling. Is this right? If so, are they're any good algae eating fish?

If your lights are on during fishless cycling because you have plants then yes you will get a build up of algea. Imo algea biuld up in a fish-in-cycle would be no different from a mature setup.
Which cycling method are you going to perform?
