Ok, my signature shows what i got so far.
I want to add cardinal tetras and a silver shark, is this ok?
Also in the future i want an adult pair of discus, which i've been told is ok in my tank, as long as the are an established pair.
I've heard people say my gouramis and betta shouldnt be together, but they are ok.

The cardinal tetras would be ok. But what size is your tank in gallons?

You should also increase the number of danios to 5. Watch the betta and gouramies closely - they can have major mood swings :p

Big NO for the silver shark - they need a tank of over 100 gallons, grow to 12 inches and are schooling fish.

The discus aren't the best choice if you don't have experience with fish because they require excellent water quality and can easily be stressed by very active fish like danios. However, depending on the size of your tank, they may be a possibility.

Dont get a Silver Shark, if your tank was 125 gallons it might just do for an adult and even then it is debatible.

You can add cardinals, best to have a shoal say min 6

Discus are possible (a pair), but as Sylvia said they arent beginers fish and above all they need constant parameters, clean water.

Read up on them as much as possible.

Yup, know that on the discus, just planning ahead!
Silver shark i would have got a small one, by the time he'd grown up i would have a bigger tank.
Did have more danios, but some died :-(
Gouarmis beat each other up and dont touch the betta, they sometimes touch, but do nothing.
I never knew it wasnt a good idea to put them together when i did.

Even if you got a small silver shark, they need to be in a group of at least 3 and grow quite quickly - they aren't slow growers like plecs or clown loaches. Deffinately don't get fish you don't have room for currently - you never know what may come up to keep you from getting that 150 gallon those bala sharks need.

I been told you can only keep one?
I thought you could have more, cause htey keep them in one tank in the LFS.
This confused me too :dunno:

No they're schooling fish. They are comparable to danios so require a group to thrive but 3 is generaly considered the minnimum because they need such a huge tank.

Ok, their out the question. Thanks
Cardinals for now then!!!!
