Hi, i am soon to be getting a new tank :hyper: either a Juwel Lido 120 or Rio 125 not the biggest tanks around but they both hav 2 t5s in them meaning quite a lot if lighting. I would like to make an south american tank, what equpiment will i need?
I will probably get a CO2 thing and my fertiliser will be that tetra eco-complete (i think thats what its called) and hopefully a canister filter and thats all i know off.
Now to stocking, i would like 10 cardinal tetras and a pair of Rams and although they are not south american i really would like harlequins and some cories (i know they are south american) can any other people suggets other fish that will be good with Cardinal Tetras, cories and Rams? harlequins are nto a must.

Thanks guys

Will

For EcoComplete, do you mean substrate not fertilizer?

Anyway, What goes with that lot? Any community fish really. TBH I think you have enough species there, just get more of the same...

GL with your new tank!

sorry it is a substrate but i thought it was a fertilizer as it goes under the gravel doesnt it? Is a fertilizer a liqid you drop in then? I quite like angels but they would eat my cardinals wouldnt they?

You're right, but when talking 'dosing ferts'...
Is a fertilizer a liqid you drop in then?
..then yes. Usually it is a liquid you drop in. Alternatively you can by dry powers (the 'raw' form of these fertz) and just drop that into the tank - far cheaper and lasts far longer.

Andy

[edit] No way are angles suitable for that stocking you mentioned initially. Rethink your tank mates if you really want angels.
