Somthing In The Works

Now I'm not sure if I'm technically allowed to post this in this forum as I've read mixed messages in the past but I can hardly keep this a secret anymore. I've currently registered a domain and are working on creating a complex tropical (for now) fish data base.

I've always been frustrated having to search google for tropical fish information while there are certain sites out there that offer similar information they are always lacking in some areas i.e. temperature or feeding or compatibility and frankly I'm sick of it.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a place where your not flooded by pop up adds? Sites not hosted on geocities and angelfire. This site has a small database of fish what I'd like to try to do is build up a large collection of different fish profiles and also have threads where people can post their own personal experiences with these fish. I'll leave the forums to the people who do them best (Fishforum.net all the way!!! possibly link here)

Everything will be done professionally by my bf in php (he's a programmer) which will include a keyword search of both common and scientific name. I hope to offer a lot more in the future but for now this is my realistic goal.

Hopeful it will be ready for September 1st I'll keep you updated on the progress and I'd love to hear your comments and suggestions for the database.

I think good can come out of this. The forum may use your database as the 'fish index' , and in return, you recommend TFF for more help with fish diseases, etc. Sounds good to me

Interesting idea, I was hoping before official opening perhaps to get a few people to edit some of the profiles for errors. I'll be trying to consult as many sources as possibly when compiling information for each fish.

If anyone wants to submit profiles then feel free to add them to our index, after all thats what its there for, but be sure to read the pinned artical in the top of every sub forum first before posting.
