We have 2 golden panchax killifish, both are in seperate 10gal tanks. 1 by itself (along with snails), and the other in a tank with platy.
The one in the platy tank hasn't been the same for about a month now and I'm not sure what is wrong with it.
It eats just fine, and its colors are bright, BUT it's not swimming right. It doesn't seem to be able to keep itself up for very long so rests on the bottom or on plants.
When it does swim around, it looks like the back of it droops a great deal and you can tell that he really struggles to swim up. Everything looks like it's moving, so don't think he's paralyzed or anything, but I dunno what would be wrong with him.
Nothing happened as far as I know that would've caused this. The platy have never been aggressive towards it as far as I know. He's never had any nips on him at all. This really did just suddenly occur one day.

So what could be wrong? I'm gonna try to get video of him swimming later today.... hopefully I remember to :p

Sounds like a swim bladder problem or a hereditary disease with developmental defects.
The future doesn't really look good for this fish I'm afraid.
What have you been feeding and what are your water stats.
A pic would be nice.
Regards

Well obviously I've forgotten to take a video of the killi today. I'll try to get it tomorrow since nothing much is planned so hopefully I won't be too distracted to forget. Or at the least, I'll try to get a photo.

I feed the fish flake food and frozen bloodworms. He eats both with gusto.

I don't overfeed as far as I can tell. I skip a day of feeding, I make sure to give a decent amount for all the fish to get some, but not too much. He's never been bloated any from overeating or constipation.

Water stats have always been perfect. I'll get numbers for you tomorrow (if I remember that is... dang memory)....
Disease, sickness..... I have had some problems with some of the platy getting a fungus on them from missing scales, and I've treated the tank for that, but that's about it.

I really am kinda stumped on what's wrong with the poor fishy fella. I hope it's something that's not going to shorten his life or make him suffer any.

Alrighty, so I tryed to get some pics, but apparently, some lazy person that's not me *coughs* hasn't cleaned the tank walls good enough so I can't get a proper video or pic of the fish.
