Something Weird In The Tank Today!

I have always kinda wanted a planted aquarium, but I never got the courage to go for it. I have a fairly new tank that is ten gallons and cycling with 6 danios for about three weeks so far. I have river rocks, pebble substrate, and pieces of slate making a cave. I have not put any plants in the tank, though I did feed the fish a pea once.

I was looking at the tank today, and I notice a little bright piece of green coming from behind the top piece of slate making the cave. I look behind it, and I can see its roots are attached to underside of the slate, and its stalk bends around to be above the slate, towards the light. It has two little leaves. Its so cute!

Uh.. I wonder what it is, and how it got there, though?

The rocks were in the yard for months before I put them in the tank, so they may have picked something up from there. I boiled the river rocks and the substrate, but the slate I just washed, and I feared it breaking if I tried to boil it.

Any ideas? I will try to get a picture tommorow...

can't do much without a picture.. but it almost sounds as if a non-aquatic plant is starting its life. It will eventually die off if this is the case.
