ok i know this is some dumb question but what the hell

lets say that i go to a fishs market and i buy a fresh fish and i came home and i clean it and washs it and after i cut a smal piece of it and feed it to my fish would that be ok i mean people feed some fishs platy frys and other live fishes but would this be ok, and if yes would tropical fishes eat salt water fish like tune or something???

I feed my snakeheads and bichirs frozen fish from the market. No problems

I know feeding SW or FW doesn't really matter (i feed mine SW), but i'm not sure about the tuna. Are you talking about the canned ones?

P.T.

fish will eat anything :D

one night my mum was just about to make some meat(forgot what it was) and i asked if i could have one, i washed it and fed it to the fish and they went crazy! :hyper: but maybe its because theyre cichlids -_-

I'm pretty sure the canned ones aren't ok, but fresh ones are generally ok, except maybe some exceptionally fatty fish.

Tuna is an exceptionaly oily fish and putting it in you tank may result in a film of oil forming on the surface of the water. I'd steer clear of oily fish like tuna & salmon.

Not sure if I'm right here, but I understood that you shouldn't feed meat (presumably excluding fish) to your fish. I can't really remember why, perhaps because it's too rich or something?

I just vaugely remember someone saying that they occaisionally give small amounts of meat to their fish, but not very often because it wasn't good for them. Any suggestions, or did I make it up?
