Someone Please Tell Me What To Do?

OK I have a 55 gal tank with no fish my oscar past on to fish heaven and I cleaned to whole tank.
I guess i shoulnt have cleaned out the filter but I did and washed the stones and plants.

I need to know what Cycleing a tank is now that i did all this. I am not new to this but My oscar was simple now i want to go to a community of fish and IT is 55 gal so its pretty big.

So if some one can tell me what i should do. to cycle my tank everything was used but is clean now.

Also if someone can help I finished the tank cleaning sunday added water distiled and tap together and today being tuesday now the tank is all cloudy what happened, grrrr

In future just use regular tap water and for cycling you can read the thread at the top about fishless-cycling.

Cloudiness may be a bacterial bloom which will clear eventually. You really want to fishless cycle that tank using the add & wait method from the fishless cycling link in my sig. Follow it to a tee and you will hopefully be able to fully stock your tank in 4 - 6 weeks time. If you can get hold of some ceramic media + sponge from a mature filter then this time can be more than halved. Other than that, just read through all the pinned articles here, in the tropical chat and planted tanks forum. There is tonnes of useful info there. And please ask questions, you are more likely to get correct answers here than at your LFS.
