Does your Frogmouth have any tank mates ? Would love one but can't really afford the space for a tank with singular fish that will probably hide most of the time What does he feed on ?

How big of a tank is your peacock bass in. pics???

It currently shares a 70g tank with some other medium sized fish but will be given its own 10g when ive cleared some space on a shelf for it to go on, i only bought the frogmouth on a spur of the moment decision a couple of weeks ago after spotting it in a not so good store where it would have faced certain doom. So far all it has eaten is snakehead fry and i dont hold up much hope on getting it to eat frozen foods as frogmouths are 100% piscavor that demand live food.


P bass are in a 200g tank, i'll try and get some full tank shots later though they dont usually come out too well because of the angle i have to take the pictures from to get the whole tank in the shot.

Ahh well the live food thing rules that out then. Not that I have anything against it, but it's too much faff for me Pity - I saw a couple in Wholesale Tropicals the other day.

wow, i love that frogmouth, how much did it set you back?

I paid 5 pounds for this one, theyre not an expensive fish, which is a pity as if they cost more less shops would stock them and less people would try to keep them, not that have any thing against people keeping them but most people are unaware of their specialist needs and abilities and more often than not the frogmouth ends up dead prematurely.
