Some Pics Of My Tanks...and My New Girl!

Some of you may know about my rescue Kato that passed away a few days ago . His tank was looking awfully lonely so I went to the petstore, just to look, really!!! And I saw the goldfish tank (the kind with the bubbley eyes?) and a week ago there were about 10 female bettas in there. A few days ago (I go here alot...its a nice retreat from college work lol) I saw two dead, and three left swimming. Today there was only one girl left . I just had to snatch her up. Just a funny sidenote: This was the convo...
Me: I would like to buy the female betta
Her: We don't carry female bettas
Me: Um...yes you do, she is with the goldfish
Her: Oh..Um..Ok, where?
Me: (walk her to betta) Right here
Her: That thing?
Me: Ummm yeah...
Her: Oh ok
*Pause*
Her: That's not a betta
Me: Um...yes it is.
Her: No, it's not.
Me: Yeah it is, sorry. They look alot different from males.
Her: Oh, ok. I've worked her for months and didn't know we had those.
Me:...

Eek sorry, that was a really long sidenote lol. Just thought it was kinda funny.
Anyways, who cares about reading, here are the pics. Mind you I was desperately looking for ways to procrastinate from reading biology (yuck) so I went on a photoshoot, and they were being very restless and would not hold still!!!

He has this white spot on his head. I'm really worried because someone said something about hole in the head here a little while ago I think, I hope its not that! It looks like he scratched in on something. He's quite the jumper so I'm hoping he just jumped up against the hood of the tank. I wil be keeping a close eye on it though. (Best pic I could get, but it still stinks!)

Aaaaannnddddd...Ellie!!! I was sticking with the "Ice Age" theme, and Ellie is the girl mammoth (Diego is the tiger!) I've never had a female before, so this is really cool for me lol! I'm assuming they can be kept like males, right? By themselves and whatnot? They don't *need* to be in a sorority? (I know...I should have asked these before hand )

And her tank! (Ewww gravel! I took the black that was in it and gave it to Diego, thinking I wasn't gonna get another Betta. So this is what was in Diego's and I'm growing to hate it more and more!!!)

Another sidenote: The tanks are lacking in plants, but a few months ago my mom redid her 75 gallon and decided she wanted only silk plants, so she went on Ebay and bought over 200 silk plants from this one distributer who had a huge discount, so she will be bringing up a bunch this weekend that I can use!

Lovely fishes, one of my girls has a marki on her head which worries me. I am just going to treat her for white spot. You can often get betta girls, and they dont know they have them in the shops. Trouble is my girls wont go together little madams. Think I got (runs round house to count) 5 girls now, they are all a bit stripey at the moment, I now keep them well away from the boys as my little bent one got terrible egg bound....tart!

sorry but i had to laugh at the 'thats not a betta' part. she is a gorgeous lil girl, looks similar to one of mine love the male and great names. care is near enough the same except you can keep females together but its not neccessary

Don't ever think your threads are pointless, thats just silly every one (bar one or two) love seeing pics of peoples bBettas and hearing their stories, so keep it up lol.

I love your lil fish they are both so beautifal and good on you for buying her and saving her from the G/f.

I have a boy called Diego he's the black and red at the end of my sig. Any how keep us updated with her progress

she's really lovely, and diego's quite a looker as well!

Thanks everyone for the comments!!! She is much less stripey today, but I'm gonna hold off on picks this time as she did not appreciate the camera at all!! So I will update once she settles in some more . And I never would have believed girls would blow bubbles until I saw it myself! Not a nest by any means, but little patches of bubbles here and there (I dunno for sure they are from her, they could just be some loose bubbles, but would be cool!) I would be so excited if she turned out to be crowntail! I looked up some pics of crowntail females and they are gorgeous (but shes beautiful no matter what!!) Thanks again!

I enjoyed the pics! That's a beautiful CT female you got there! I love her! All the pet stores around here only carry VT females. I had to order all my girls off of Aquabid (except the one I got off of Ebay... and that poor girl! At least I am nursing her to health now!)! Congrats on the find and from saving her from those goldfish!

I had to laugh at the whole "We don't sell those..." LOL
