I had the same kind of feeling when i recently re-did my tank, and there were moments when i was like "hmmmm, maybe i should have just left it" but once things grow a little and 'settle in' then it looks great.
I think your new layout is really good, but i agree with Corin, i'm not keen on those stones, i would say to rearrange them to make them look less neat and set out in a line, but even then i think theres something wrong with the stones themselves that you wouldnt really be able to change, to me theyre a bit too clean and clinical, the colours of them are a bit light and distracts you away from the plants. I would get some nice bits of bogwood and see what they look like instead.
Overall looking good though certainly has great potential.
well the hc has gone it was just not working for. and the stones just have to stay i promised my girlfriend, she took them from a beech in devon but im glad you like it i've had another fiddle after buying some crypts opions?
I know this -http/www.plantedtank.net/plantprofiles/Four-Leaf-Clover-Marsilea-quadrifolia/1002/ plant usually isn't mentiond (for some reason) but i have it in my nano and it is growing everywhere and covering the gravel, just what i wanted, maybe it will look good in your tank to fill in the foreground
I like the stones, but they look a little too flat. I think they could do with a little bit of height. Maybe on one side rest one stone on top of another? Kinda like o\\ - Resting at an angle if that makes sense?
Or even group them together a bit more and do something similar, but also pressing one of the flatter ones into the gravel to make it a little lower giving them some depth
i like that cheers fella im cheering up now its starting to look better. i have some dwarf ricca on order so that will finish of the left front corner but im not sure if i should spread to cover the right or not maybe some bog wood with some sort of very low anbias on it not sure but thanks for going through the effort of doing a p'chop for
