Yesterday, we treated ourselves to a day out at Shotgate Aquatics in Billericay (about 60 miles away). It was SirMinion's birthday on Saturday, so we decided to spend a bit of cash and buy some L-Numbers.

A few hours later, and £150 poorer, we headed home. :D

Here's some piccies (of the ones that haven't disappeared into the abyss):

Here's Sir's pride and joy - Medusa, the err.. Medusa pleco:

A couple of pics of Snicket (Lemon spotted green pleco) and one of our Spotted Rubberlips:

These are the only photos I've managed to get of the new guys so far. We also purchased another Red-Tailed Sternella, a 2nd Spotted Rubberlip, and a Marbled Synodontis. The fish cost us £87, the rest was in books (Aqualog All Corydoras!) and dry goods.

Now here's a few new shots of the more established residents:

Very nice posing from our red Dwarf Gourami

The Violet Gobies are really putting on some weight now!

Two of our beautiful Peacock Gobies - they're so very tiny!

What wonderful fish. I was so surprised as picture after picture appeared with such beauties in them. I love them all and thank you for sharing them!

ALASKA

What a great birthday trip indeed...

Thank you! Some of the photos aren't the clearest, but those darn fish just won't keep still. :D

You got some really nice collections of plecs and your fish ofcourse.. :D Those are amazing pics too....must be a nice camera and maybe some skills in photography.... :kewlpics:

Some unusual fish there, not seen some of thoses before. Great picture taking also.
:kewlpics:

Thank you again... :)

The camera is a Kodak DX6490. Not the most expensive of cameras when I bought it (£300), but I've always like Kodak and I find the quality of their equipment impressive.

I'm really not a particularly good photographer, but thank you for saying so. My flaw is that I'm very impatient and sitting in one place for ages waiting for the fish to be in the perfect place is no easy task. I use Photoshop extensively and it can really bring out the best in average photos when you know how.

SirMinion is a far better photographer - he used to teach college students.

Thanks earthgirl!

Sir was so happy when we discovered they had one. He rang and reserved it straight away. Unfortunately it was the only one they had (a female) as they males had all been sold a few days earlier. So we are still on the lookout for a male.

I only posted the one photo because she won't bloomin' turn around, lol.

FOTM for the red dwarf and the second pic of the peacock gobie :D

Don't you just love it when you get a perfect shot of a fish :D
Thanks for the noms!

Yes, I get sooo happy when a shot comes out that perfect.

And talking of nice photos, I found one we took yesterday as well.

This is Deano, the Yellow Marbled Synodontis (I chose him!):

His colours are faded 'cause he had just been transported 60 miles and the dorsal fin is a bit tatty - he was in a cichlid tank.

Wow, those are great pics!!! I think the colors of the dwarf gourami are just phenomenal

I definitely second the noms for the gourami and peacock goby!
