I'm with him grab some and see how you go, the red one looks a bit like hygrophilia? and the other star grass, or a type of ludwig?

Just give them good clean before you put them in your tank, you don't want to introduce snails or any other nasties

Noticed your from "From: Wirral,UK"

Won`t they just disintigrate in the heat of your tank since they will be cold water plants?

Just an opinion!! i haven`t a clue!

Chris

Im more of a terrestrial plant person, but I've got a feeling that that plants isn't native anyway. It looks most like rosebay willowherb, but thats a marsh plants and not a true aquatic. I will ask at work tomorrow, they have more aquatic plant ID skills than me.

Craynerd, and others iv grown native plants before such as creeping jenny and some other plants i dont realy know, but they did grow in a tank with no heater and mountain minnows. Only problem was introduced lots ( and i mean lots of wriggly bugs) mainly planarian.

Themuleous, i noticed in one of your pics ( the bogwood one) that your office had lots of plant and lower vertabret ID posters, do you work in concervation like me?

Some book recomendations on native aquatic plant & aquatic life would be good.

Graeme.
