I'm cycling a new tank, and a big piece of driftwood I've added seems to have brought some white cottony fungus with it. Some small patches have started appearing on some of the plants in there too...

I've read this is fairly common on new pieces of wood and it should disappear over a couple of weeks, but -- Is there any good way to get rid of the fungus more quickly? Should I prune off any infected leaves? Will it disappear over time? Should I just add some more plants so they might out-compete it?

Thanks in advance...

Once its on the wood its very rare that it will just dissapear. In my case once it appeared it spread and spread, i tried baking, boiling abd bleaching to no avail/

Hmmm... That doesn't sound promising. -_-

It'll delay the cycling, but is there some kind of fungicide that won't render the tank permanently uninhabitable?

Actually, never mind. I'll just keep it cycling and wait for the tank to develop a decent biofilm.
