how do you get rid of white spot?

due to a misleading petstore, i have gouramis and had hatchets that had unormal red coloring behind their fins, is there any way i can get rid of this?

Red colouring can be septicemia, to poor water quality.

How many gallons is the tank.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Do the fish have tiny litttle white spots on them, like there been sprinkled in salt.
