That newt is AWSOME! I want one! hahahaha, he rocks! I have never been much interested, ut after seeing him.... :nod: im off to do research!

That IS an awesome looking newt! How deep is your water? (something is brewing in my head that probably shouldn't be)
 
Yeah I like him a lot. BTW you might have more luck researching the red eft. It's the second stage in his life cycle. thanks for the complements guys.

EDIT: the water is probably about 9-10" deep at the deepest. just guessing, I need to measure it.
you can get an idea about how the tank is set up from these pics. Also I think the thread cold water pond tank is still on here somewhere it goes into detail. BTW if you plan on keeping them from tadpoles you need a much larger land area. In fact I am going to get a bigger tank and increase the land area in mine soon as I can.

Just a thought... there should be an amphibian of the month contest too. Isaac feels discriminated against.

Red eft (Juvenile form) or eastern spotted newt (Adult, like torreans) are the best things to search under if you want info on those newts :)
