Fish Crazy
OK - A bit strange goings on at the moment.
I have lost a few fish recently. One today, one last week and one a couple of weeks ago.
I *think* the one today may have been attacked and killed - It was intorduced to the tank on Monday (a 5th caeruleus, a male, ratio was 2m:3f). I lost a male caeruleus a couple of months ago too and added another female which was fine - Wondering if the remaining male is attacking the other males that have been in there, but havent witnessed it and he doesnt show agression to anyone else.
I lost a mabamba last week - He was poorly and had been sitting on the bottom of the tank for two days before he died. Was well gutted as these are my favourites.
The other was one of my tropheops red fin - This one degenerated over a period of weeks, getting thinner and thinner. I am worried as one of my others is starting to look like this two.
What I cant understand is this:
pH = 7.5
Ammonia = 0
Nitrite = 0
GH=80
KH=110
So the water seems ok. I have done a 50% change today just in case.
The heater is struggling a little with the cold weather, but temp isnt dropping below 24.5
They are fed on spirulina flake and sera granugreen and granured mixed together.
I use Nutrafin Aqua Plus (bucket by bucket) when I do water changes and also use Seachem Malawi Buffer when I do a water change.
Filtration etc as per my sig.
The fish look OK in general, but I do sometimes think that the dorsal fins on some of them look a bit "shabby". Im not sure if this is just me though
I may be overracting and may just have been a bit unlucky, but thought I would run it past everyone for any opinions.
