Okay... I just watched one of my females do something I've never read about anywhere.
This female is the one who managed to leap out of her conditioning bowl and in with the male yesterday (how exactly she managed this remains a mystery) and when I got her out she had the torn fins and missing scales...
She got put in a plastic container next to the other males to recover... She is now clearly spawning by herself! She will go and look at the males, she seems especially fond of the black one, then point her nose down and spew out about a dozen eggs... Then procede to eat them off the bottom.
Ive never read about anything like this!
Should I put them in together and let the male court her? Or should I wait a couple weeks for her to recover from her last little adventure, letting her continue with this odd self spawning thing she is doing?
