Well, my midas can no longer live with my oscar, but he acted really lonely without another cichlid pal (life is boring without its little tussles, I guess,) so I picked up another oscar to keep him company 
The new guy, Socrates, is much smaller than Aristotle, but the largest oscar I could find who wasn't too massive. The first day I added him to the tank he was a little dazed from his journey all the way from Tyler (a town two hours away,) so he wasn't giving the right signals and Aristotle beat him up... but after being separated for a couple of days, Socrates has perked up and now aggressions have calmed down to a point where I feel safe leaving him in the tank with Aristotle. At least Eligos the bichir likes him... they've been sharing the cave
