ive now had my driftwood in soak for 24 hours, but im still getting a bit of color in the water, ive read a few places that say only soak it for 24 hours, but im not happy at the wood going into the tank with it still giving off color

does the wood always do this, or should i wait until its has completely stopped colouring the water?

I've been soaking some for a month and still getting yellowish water a day or so after changing it.
If the piece is small enough you could try boiling it (never done this myself and the current piece is too big)
some say a pressure hose would help.
24 hours is definitely too short

cheers mate

the wood isnt a real small piece, and i have been changing the water with boiling water every 8 hours or so

cant boil it because its too large for a pan
