Is there anything you specifically soak this in to ensure it's clean?

I usually boil my driftwood for about a hour. That way you know it will be clean and any lurking bugs will be killed off! :D

The driftwood I'm looking to get it far too large to boil. I don't even know what I can soak it in. I might have to get some huge tuppermaid thing.

Do I just soak this in normal water, or what?

Hi,

hot water will leach the tannins out quicker, i soaked 2 massive pieces in the bath for 2 weeks, which was a pain as everytime someone wanted a bath they had to get the wood out first, then make sure there was no trace of soap left and stick the wood back in

I usually wash large pieces with hot shower for a few minutes and fill the bath and soak them in warm water (unless you have a driftwood bigger then a bath, I have had a few 4ft ones max) for about an hour.

If you really want to soak it further then you could get a tall waterbutt and soak it in there but hot water and warm water will usually get rid of most of the naturally leaching stuff from it (considering the wood is actually aquarium safe).
