well wat is your substrate , whats your wpg, explain more, just saying something died and not saying how you nourish it doesnt help to much.

valis needs to be planted in the filter flow to do well. when planted in areas of the tank that is, relatively, still it dosn't grow fast.

Vals tend to need harder water to grow well (although some poeple have grown them in soft water).

My water is pretty hard... :/ like really... I tend to stop at 40 drops in a API GH kit.. :/

nah.. it is good enough.. I might try and add some bicarbonate to the mix.. craynerd's post has that in it.. time to juice the co2 machine up.. haha and I jsut moved them into the filter flow.. hopefully that will get it going..

on a side note.. anyone know how long it will take for my SAEs to actually start eatting? :/ I have enough green thread algea on the back wall to feed a horse.

it is jsut kind of annoying since my wisteria is super florishing.. (thoguh that is at the exhaust of the co2 reactor) and my chaine sword is going to carpet the tank it seems... along with the wisteria..

hopefully I will soon have enoguh plant to fight the algea off. today I begin the battle with a 75% water change and then fresh fert dosing. and a plant trimming.

I had similar problems with my Vallis. The two chief facts that help keep 'em going in my tank are:

1. They do better in my tank with root nourishment and foliar nourishment, so I added Flourish Root Tabs and I dose with the liquid Flourish too.

2. As soon as you see a damaged leaf snip it off as close to the crown of the plant as possible, If they are left rot will quickly set into the plant as a whole.

I'm not sure if you do this yourself - you may well do  , but this is what turned it round for me (crosses fingers, touches wood  )!

why kind of root nurishment can i add?
