Mom wanted us to come and eat Thanksgiving dinner with her, in her care facility today... so, commercial turkey dinner with mom, for us today... well at least no dirty dishes to wash...
We are in Los Angeles spending Thanksgiving with our son and cousins. I’m thankful for being alive to enjoy my family. I have dodged the grim reaper several times.
Brother and I decided to skip all the work for turkey and stuffing. So, we are doing filet mignons on the grill. We have a small blueberry and a small apple pie for desert. We are 75 and 77 years old and most relatives are dead (dad's sister at 101) or great distances away. We are both happy to be alive and able to enjoy life. We managed to keep mom here with dementia which killed her at age 96 in early 2013. It was harder on us than on her.
Tomorrow night is November's fish club meeting. No speaker--> Pizza Party and Fishy Bingo" and the auction with 100% going to the seller.
