I'm starting to get annoyed now, I've been fishless cycling for about 3 weeks ammonia has been going down, nitrite was at zero and was just about finished. All was going well.

Now a few days ago my ammonia stopped decreasing and maybe decreases like .3 PPM per day. Now my nitrite is up to .1 and I'm assuming it's going to keep increasing. My nitrate is already like over 100. I've been addig ammonia everyday and I didn't increase the dosage at all.

On top of this I have green free floating algae which hopefully my UV will remove in a few days. Sorry I just had to rant this is really annoying me.

Also, I DID NOT CHANGE anything everything was going exactly the same. This happened before I added the UV.

Any idea on what could have caused this????

What is your current ammonia level? Too high can stunt the growth of the bacteria.

Also what did you use for a bacteria culture.

High nitrates can stunt the bacteria as well. Anything above 50ppm can create cycling problems. I would do a water change to bring down the nitrates and hopefully things will take care of themselves. I ahd the same problem when cycling.

Let us know how you go

I did a water change and I got the Nitrate down pretty low now and got rid of some of the green water at the same time. :) I also added some more ammonia to get it going again.
