Is it possible for a needle fish to live in the same tank as a snowflake eel and chocolate chip starfish?
I'm looking for a top swimmer that won't get eaten by my eel once it gets larger.
Right now the snowflake is very small, not even a foot long. The starfish is also small as well.

Provided we're talking about an echidna nebulosa, Snowflakes eat more crusteans and not so much fish. If you keep your eel well fed and with medium/larger fish then things should be alright. It'll probably eat the ornamental shrimp and snails and such. That's what their teeth are for :good:

"Needle Fish"? Do you know the genus name?

I agree with above, though. Snowflakes don't usually eat fish. Though I don't seem to recall that they eat snails, either. Mostly true crabs and shrimp.

My bad, I guess. I researched them a while ago and remembered what I typed. I guess I figured crustaceans included snails

The crustacean issue is why I'm not getting one......yet :hyper:
