Hello,
I'm concerned about my female platy. She used to be a happy eater but for the past 2 days she just won't touch the food. She can swim all right, although not as vividly as she used to. She's not exhibiting any other symtoms. No spots, streaks, no damaged fins nor gills. Not rapid breathing either. She's not completely still though. She moves around slowly and looking sad. Well, the sad part might be only MY appreciation, but still...
My params are: ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 15ish, ph8. I know ph is a little high but so is my tap water and I've had this tank running for almost a year.

She's not pregnant either. The male platys have flirted with her but she bullies them away! She's one though cookie let me tell you! The only explanation that comes to mind is old age. I can't tell exactly how old is she but when I got her in Oct. 2004 she was little, like 3cm long (1.25 in), and now she's gotten quite big, (she's my biggest fish actually!) she'a about a good 2 inches long.

I know it's difficult to determine what might be wrong with her, but I was wondering if anybody has had a similar experience.
Any help or opinion will be appreciated.

What is your male/female ratio? She may normally chase off the males but she could still be harassed or even exhausted. It should be 2 or 3 females for each male.
