Hi All

I have just started with a small 13 litre aquarium. The tank is currently populated with various plants and some Zebra Danios. Yesterday I found several snails about 2mm accross, which must have come out of the plants. Are they ok or should I get them out?

They usually come on the plants or can also grow from snail eggs deposited on the plant, they are usually harmless, just remove them as you see them.

Btw a 13 liter tank is not very big, its auctually very small and not suited to Zebra Danios as they are very active and really require quite a bit of room, your tank is only about 3 gallons and as a general rule you should only stock 1 inch of fish per gallon, so dont be tempted to put many fish in there because they will probably die due to overstocking.

Have a look in the beginner section for more information im sure you will find it helpful if you are new to fishkeeping.

You have a Zebra Danios in there??? As for the snail it should be fine most snails are harmless..I should know :) BTW-Get a bigger tank when you get the chance Im sure the Zebra Danios would love it

Overpopulating of snails is a ugly problem, i remember once i had at least 100 snails and just had to go through the hole tank and smash them all, not sure if it messed up my PH and stuff, but got rid of the problem.
