snails

hello all,
my son has a small tank 18"x12"x12".we didnt buy snails they just appeared,must have been in the plants.but there is more and more of them everyday.i read the other post which said to get a Botia.we have no room for more fish so this isn't an option.please help im sick of snails,if there not eating my garden plants there filling me tank.

When you do your next water change, knock em off the glass and make sure you get all the eggs too, then just suck em up with your syphon.

Or you could get a bit of lettuce, drop it in the tank and wait for them all to gather then remove it then just make sure you get rid of any egg sacks as and when you see them.

Well you can try to pick them out but that's usually a pain. a Botia is the easiest thing to do but like you said, you don't have room. You could try and put a lettuce leaf in there overnight and just pull it out, the snails should go on it, but you'll have to do it a few times a week.
