Help, i think i missed a boat load of snail eggs on one of my plants and now were starting to get a little over run with little baby ones.
Is the anything we can do to get ridd of them?
A fish that eats them as a main part of its diet would do the trick, has to be a comunity fish though.

Wish I had that 'bad' luck! (Not kidding!)

I have Yo-Yo loaches that love hunting/eating snails. They've got a lot of character, energy, and will keep you entertained for a long time.

They mix well with all my fishes, so I'll recommend them. :D

i hate snails sooooo much. my tank is overrun with them too. i think if you put a slice of cucumber in the tank just when you turn the light off at night then by the morning it will be covered in snails. i'm not too sure about this though as i havent tried it yet. clown loaches eat snails but they can get pretty big and they arent great for a beginner.

Try some lettuce...I do this and it works... in the morning there is a bunch of them just chowing down on it...easy catching

I wish i had a bunch of snails in my tank my pacu eats them. I bought a plant bout 30 snails were on it and in one day a pacu ate them all! I know that pacu, loaches and dawf puffers eat them but a pacu and loaches get big and puffer are fin nippers. so if u have a big tank i would go with the loaches caouse pacu get like 30".

hope i was help

I would suggest that you get some of the "botia" species of loaches........they make short dinners of snails. Please check that they are ok with your tank size first though, as most botias work best in groups of three or more, and grow quite large. :)

Why do snails get such a bad wrap? I was DELIGHTED to find out my Java moss came with some bonus snail. When I get dwarf puffers, they will love them, too.

I've just put 2 ladder loaches in our snail haven 15gal... they are under control now :)

2 laoches in a 15 gallon. bad idea u better get a bigger tank the grow big like 14".

and i like it wen snails pop up in my tank! and so dose my pacu.

(sorry bout double post)

Because they look ugly and eat plants.
Well, that's your opinion; I think they look alright. I haven't had any problem with them eating my plants, either.
i totally agree. Some water snails not only look cute but taste good too. :pepsi:

It's not my opinion

It's other people's opinion

You asked why they are disliked, and that's why.
