Hi all,

I have a few snails in my tank.
I don't mind them being there, if I start to get massive numbers of them then I'll do something about them but for now I'm happy to keep them.

I seem to have a few static snail shells on the sand substrate.
They aren't fully grown and the ones on the glass of the tank seem fine but they seem to die when they get on the sand at the bottom.
will the dead ones pollute the tank? (presuming they are dead)
What could be killing them or is it natural causes?
most of them seem to be thriving, laying eggs on the glass and having a good time but the static ones are a big concern.

any advice is appreciated.

Snails actually drown if they can't hold themselves. Yeah.

(For example if they arent't on glass, ornaments etc. If they are upside down, they'll definitely drown)
