Is it possible to wash snails eggs off plants, I have a used tank that's got plants and baby snails in, I want to move my plants to another tank without transferring the snails, possible or no?

I think it is possible if you rince thoroughly, if not just get two Assasin Snails :)!

I had arround 100+ pest snails, brought three Assasin Snails, with in a week i've never seen a pest snail! And you can always sell the Assasin Snails on, or keep them, they don't produce no where near as many babys as pest snails do. Plus you can see there eggs if i'm not mistaken so you could remove them, or keep them and sell them too! Money in that I hear :p lol.

Good luck!

Hey! I have 3 assassin snails and they are useless, must be all men :p

My LFS finally got in some assassins! Bought four, lost two (I guess my skunk loaches really DO eat snails! Well, some snails anyway.) Moved the two survivors to another tanks with another MTS infestation and they're doing work! Lots of empty MTS shells laying around. Unfortunately, my assassins get a little stage fright, so I don't get to see them feed, only the results.

Is there any detritus in the tank? if so that's what is sustaining their population, if you remove the left over food and rotting matter then the snails will die off and numbers will be vastly reduced.

Which snails do you have in your tank?

They'll be fine to remove, just slide the blobs off of the leave with your thumb.

I don't get it, there's no adults, only babies, they look like MTS and ramshorns, not 100's but 20-30 at a time, I don't hardly feed the fish, I'm not one to feed twice a day and never have been so it's not overfeeding/leftover food.

Are you sure there are no rotting plants or bits of wood that are leaving hidden detritus under decorations?

MTS can reproduce asexually, which is why there are so many of them, Ramshorns can reproduce just as fast, for them to be reproducing this quickly there has to be a food source somewhere.
