I was just looking at a few post about snails in Aquariums, but I can't seem to see what purpose they serve.
I know some people try to avoid having snails in their tank but other actually put snails in their tank.
So go on, what do they do??

eat algae and leftover food.

pest snails are pond snails and ramshorns.
the ones people put in are mystery, apple, and nerite snails.

then there is MTS (malaysian trumpet snails) which if you have sand are great. they dig down in the sand and sift it so no gas pockets form.

I raise snails for my puffer colony. I just can't keep them producing enough. It takes about a month to get a decent count, and only four days for the puffers to nearly knock it all down. One ten gallon farm tank is not efficient. Good luck and happy snailing.....lol....... 8>)
