I am looking for a fish/snail to clean up a tank, and one that will not eat fish eggs. Will Mystery Snails or Apple Snails eat fish eggs? And will the eat leftover food matter?

How about malaysian trumpet snails they eat left over food and if you have sand
they are good at stopping it from compacting, and also move the substrate around for plants.
Not sure if they eat fish eggs :/

No thanks those snails breed like rabbits.

If you don't want breeding snails, your best bet is Nerites. If you have an acidic PH you're going to get some pretty ugly, pitted shells however.

apple snails, i got mine today , i love them (thanks shaz) :)

your very welcome :good:

apple snails lay there eggs in clusters above the water line these are easy to remove if you dont want them,

as far as egg eating goes i have not seen my apples eat them. :good:

they do a great clean up job too

if your worried about reproduction, why not get only one?

as for a fish.... there are many bottom feeders that take care of excess food, such as corries or loaches. these are my favorites because they have great personality and are fun to watch!
